A Domaine steeped in history
At the edge of the Comognes of Flawinne lies Domaine « Les IV Seigneurs ».

A name of legends
Many stories still revolve today around the origin of the Domaine’s name.
It could first come from a wood within the Domaine, named « Bois des Quatre Seigneurs » (Wood of the Four Lords).
It is also said that in 1692, during the War of the League of Augsburg, Louis XIV established his quarters on our heights to personally oversee the siege of Namur and its Citadel, accompanied by his Marshals Boufflers and Vauban. In 1695, the lieutenant general of William of Orange’s army also set up his quarters here to retake the city from the French. The name « IV Seigneurs » would therefore come from the French officers stationed on our plains.
Finally, this name could also come from the song of the Four Sons of Aymon: Aalard, Renaud, Guichard and Richard — a designation which later became « Les quatre Seigneurs ».
Although the true origin of its name and the exact date of construction of the castle, its outbuildings and the farm remain unknown to us, we know that the entire Domaine was extended at the end of the 19th century.
A wine project
uniting two generations
In the early 2000s, as a forerunner, Geoffroy B., Virginie de Paul’s uncle, seeking to diversify his farmland, had the idea of planting vineyards on the most suitable slopes. He contacted a regional wine specialist who was very enthusiastic about this diversification.
However, with no economic reference in the region, the project was considered too avant-garde for its time. It was never realised.
In 2020, when Virginie and Geoffroy de Paul settled on the property, they decided to revive this project, strengthened by the experience of other Namur winegrowers.
